Former Governor Sarah Palin's 400-pg memoirs, Going Rogue: An American Life, is set to hit shelves across North America in time for the Christmas shopping season.

Going Rogue, Palin's first book (with collaborator Lynn Vincent) is coming out in hardcover first, with an e-book release scheduled for December. Harper has a large first run planned, with 1.5 million copies in November's initial printing. Said Harper spokeswoman Tina Andreadis on Monday, "We want to maximize hardcover sales over the holidays."

Publisher Praises Palin's Passion for Going Rogue

Harper publisher Jonathan Burnham credits Palin's investment in the project for its early completion. In an interview with the AP (from the CBS News Political Hotsheet), he told the AP, "Governer Palin has been unbelievably conscientious and hands-on at every stage, investing herself deeply and passionately in this project. It's her words, her life, and it's all there in full and fascinating detail."

Sarah Palin a Self-Promotion Machine in Social Media

Palin has largely avoided the spotlight of the mainstream media since being pegged a divisive influence in the 2008 election. However, the moose hunting hockey mom has over 900,000 Facebook supporters (current as of September 29), with another healthy profile on LinkedIn.com.

The former Alaskan Governor spoke in Hong Kong September 23, 2009, in an event closed to the media. She did, however, take to her Facebook page to release a note on her speech. Despite a lack of positive press, Palin seems to have a dedicated following in social media - a fan base that may serve her well on her book's release.
